Today is the last day for Delhi Nursery Admission 2024-25. The registration process for nursery, KG, and Class 1 admission in private schools for general category students is coming to a close.

The closing date for Delhi Nursery Admission 2024-25 is today. The registration process for general category students seeking admission to nursery, KG, and Class 1 in private schools will conclude on December 15, 2023. The Directorate of Education (DoE) Delhi will release the first list on January 12, followed by the second list on January 29, subsequent lists on February 21, and the admission process will conclude on March 08, 2024. Between January 13 and January 22, a 10-day window has been allocated for schools to address parents' queries regarding the points assigned to their children based on the school's criteria. Schools are required to have a well-documented mechanism for responding to parents' queries, either via email or letters, and maintain details in a register.

Delhi Nursery Admission 2024-25: Parents Must Have These Documents(as valid address proof)

Some of the indicative documents that can be considered as proof of residence of parents/child:

  • Ration Card/Smart Card issued in the name of parents (Mother/Father having name of child).
  • Domicile certificate of child or of his/her parents.
  • Voter I-Card (EPIC) of any of the parents.
  • Electricity bill/MTNL telephone bill/Water bill/Passport in the name of any of the parents or child.
  • Aadhaar Card/UID card issued in the name of any of the parents.
  • Delhi Nursery Admission 2024-25: How Admission Will Be Conducted?

As per the official notification, the draw of lots (if any either computerized or through slips), will be conducted transparently in the presence of parents.

Eligible parents/guardians of students in the draw of lots will be informed at least two days prior the date of the draw through the official website, noticeboard, and e-mail by the school.

The draw of lots will be conducted under videography and its footage to be maintained/retained by the school. The slips will be shown to the parents before putting in the box, being used for draw of lots.

Delhi Nursery Admission 2024-25: How Much Parents Can Be Charged Under Registration Fee?

Buying of school prospectus along with an application form is not mandatory for parents and schools can neither force parents to buy a prospectus nor charge any processing fee. However, Only Rs. 25 can be charged as an admission registration fee from parents.

Still No Notification On 298 Schools

It has been a week since nursery admissions for private schools began in the city. With January 23 as the last day for schools to accept applications, there is still no notification on the 298 schools built on DDA/government land. Many prominent schools in the city built on DDA land have to accept 75 per cent students from the neighbourhood. Delhi HC orders The Directorate of Education (DoE) had issued a statement saying that as per Delhi High Court orders, all private schools have to adopt the criteria of admission which must be clear, well-defined, equitable, non-discriminatory, unambiguous and transparent, but failed to comment on when the notification for the 298 schools would come out.
